A few days ago, I upgraded the “Truecaller” app to the new available version in my Google Android smartphone. I use the TrueCaller app in a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone to automatically detect spam calls and identify unknown and new numbers.
After updating Truecaller to the latest version, when I received the call, I immediately noticed the new calling screen, which was different from the stock or default calling screen of my Samsung smartphone. I tried to make a new call and again the phone displayed the same new calling screen as seen in the past, apart from the built-in calling screen.
I found that the new version of Truecaller installed a new full screen caller ID screen, which automatically replaced the stock calling screen of my mobile phone with its Truecaller calling screen.

In previous versions, Truecaller was showing a pop-up box or floating window that had the caller’s name and other stock information or your smartphone’s default calling screen.
Finally after some troubleshooting, I was able to deactivate the Truecaller calling screen and restore the stock calling screen of my smartphone.
UPDATE:
Newer versions of Truecaller now come with a built-in option to disable new full screen caller ID and restore your mobile phone’s stock calling screen and Truecaller’s classic floating caller ID popup window. Open Truecaller Settings, go to Caller ID option and turn off “Show full screen Caller ID” option.
